February 7, 2024 (Erie, PA) – Katie Jones, Regional President of ERIEBANK, announced the groundbreaking for ERIEBANK’s newest community banking office and financial education center on Parade Street in Erie. The office is part of an ongoing revitalization effort led by the East Side Renaissance. ERIEBANK was joined by representatives from its parent company, CNB Bank, the East Side Renaissance, and Erie Insurance. The new office, located at the corner of 10
th and Parade Street in Erie, will be the first of its kind for ERIEBANK.
"Today marks a significant milestone for ERIEBANK. We believe that access to reliable financial services and quality financial education is fundamental to empowering individuals and driving economic growth within our community. This endeavor not only demonstrates our commitment to serve the residents of Erie but also showcases our dedication to fostering financial literacy and economic prosperity,” said Ms. Jones. “Together, with the East Side Renaissance, we are excited to embark on this transformative journey, creating opportunities and building a brighter future for the community."
In an ongoing effort to provide essential resources to the community, ERIEBANK is committed to bringing financial education and accessible banking services to the area. To ensure that the community's financial and educational needs are appropriately addressed, ERIEBANK has established a community advisory committee consisting of local stakeholders in collaboration with the bank.
"Finally, we witness the fulfillment of what many said would not or could not happen - the erection of a bank and financial learning center right in the center of a neighborhood that has been economically marginalized and deprived for so very long. What better catalyst could there be? I believe this is the genesis of a true renaissance for Erie's east side,” said Bishop Dwayne Brock of the Eastside Renaissance.
ERIEBANK first opened in 2005 in Erie, Pennsylvania, under founding President David Zimmer. Within two years of being open, the full-service banking style and community-focused aesthetic set ERIEBANK apart from other banks with their focus on each customer, which are now trademarks at all locations. Now, more than eighteen years later, the bank has twelve locations with plans for future growth under President Wesley Gillespie.
ERIEBANK, a division of CNB Bank, is part of a $5.7 billion bank that has been and will continue to be developed by local business and community leaders. The local decision-making provided by ERIEBANK offers a high level of dedication and service to the communities within northwest Pennsylvania and northeast Ohio.
