David Zimmer, President of ERIEBANK, today announced the top eight charities in the second annual ERIEBANK 8 Great Charities, a contest in which the Bank will award a total of $8,000 to local non-profit organizations. The nominations for ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Charities in alphabetical order are:

Emma’s Footprints
Erie Animal Network
Erie Trap and Release
New Blossoms New Life Foundation
Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary
SOS 4 Kidz
The Achievement Center of Erie County
The contest now proceeds to open voting for finalists to receive monetary awards from ERIEBANK. Anyone can vote on Facebook or at one of the branch offices every day from now until Sunday, August 20 at 11:59 p.m.  Awards will be announced at the final concert on August 21. The three organizations with the most votes will receive $3,000, $1,500, and $1,000, respectively, and the additional five organizations will each receive $500.
The finalists were announced last evening’s ERIEBANK 8 Great Tuesdays concert at Liberty Park. The Bank is the major sponsor of the free eight-week concert series.
“Well over 100 different non-profits that serve the Erie area were nominated in the 8 Great Charities contest this year,” said Mr. Zimmer.  “These eight finalists, along with all of the nominees play a vital role in our community.”
To be eligible for the contest, non-profits must be designated as IRS 501(c)(3) organizations and must be located in the Erie, PA area. Contest rules and regulations can be found here.

ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Tuesdays is a free concert series held at Liberty Park for eight consecutive Tuesdays of the summer throughout July and August.
